Traditional Thai Wedding
The hotel’s beachfront pavilion sets the stage for the Thai-style wedding, which encompasses a monk blessing ceremony, water-pouring ceremony and wedding registration ceremony.
Monk Blessing Ceremony
Nine Buddhist monks preside over a blessing ceremony, which begins early in the morning. Symbolically linked by a sacred thread, the bride and groom exchange the rings at the altar before their families and relatives.
The monk blessing ceremony programme is inclusive of:
- An agreement and consultation with the hotel’s wedding coordinator, who will guide you through the entire ceremony
- The wedding altar and all necessary accessories used in the ceremony
- A “bridesmaid” and “groomsman” dressed in traditional Thai costumes
- Donations to the Buddhist monks and temple
- A bouquet of flowers for Buddhist monks
Water-pouring Ceremony
This ritual follows the monk blessing ceremony. The bride and groom exchange their rings and kneel at the wedding alter while family members, friends and guests take turns pouring the holy water on the couple’s hands.
The water-pouring ceremony programme is inclusive of:
- An agreement and consultation with the hotel’s wedding coordinator, who will guide you through the entire ceremony
- The wedding altar and all necessary accessories used in the ceremony
- A “bridesmaid” and “groomsman” dressed in traditional Thai costumes
Wedding Registration
This ceremony is for the couples who choose to register their marriage in Thailand. Presiding over the ceremony, a government official will legalize the couple’s marriage and bestow upon the newlyweds an official marriage certificate signed by both parties.
The wedding registration programme is inclusive of:
- Arrangements with the local authorities to preside over the ceremony
- A donation to the official delegate
- Official documents to legalize the marriage
